Actual software listings should appear shortly. The current plan is to be as close to the planned environment for the 2006 International Collegiate Programming Contest. Their tentative system config is Fedora Core 4 Linux.

Planned software environment:

  • RedHat Fedora Linux Core 4 (Download from redhat.com or fedora.lsu.edu) RPM listing as of 20050927
  • Window Managers
    • Gnome (Bluecurve)
    • KDE (Bluecurve)
  • Languages
    • GNU C/C++
    • Sun Java (1.4.2_05, 1.4.2_06, 1.5.0, 1.5.0_05)
    • Free Pascal (only if requested, no plan to currently provide)
  • Integrated Development Environments
    • Eclipse - IDE for Java development
  • Editors
    • vi, vim, gvim
    • emacs, Xemacs
    • gedit, kedit
    • pico and/or nano
  • Miscellaneous

Sound will be disabled. Systems will have 2-button mice (maybe 3-button).
